David Goldbloom

 

Dr David Goldbloom, OC, MD, FRCPC

Dr David Goldbloom is a Canadian psychiatrist, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, author, lecturer, and mental health advocate. He is currently the Senior Medical Advisor of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and a psychiatric consultant. 

He previously served as Vice-Chair and then Chair of the Board of the Mental Health Commission of Canada from 2007 to 2015. He is a member of the boards of the Graham Boeckh Foundation, and CAMH Foundation. He has also authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters and has provided talks and lectures to student, professional and public audiences. He is the editor of two textbooks in psychiatry and co-author with Dr. Pier Bryden of the best-selling book How Can I Help? A Week in My Life as a Psychiatrist. His most recent book, We Can Do Better: Urgent Innovations to Improve Mental Health Access and Care, was published in 2021.

Dr Goldbloom has received various awards and recognition for his work in Psychiatry and is an honorary member of The College of Family Physicians of Canada as well as an Officer of the Order of Canada. 

Dr Goldbloom holds a degree in government from Harvard University, an MA from Oxford University in Physiological Sciences and MD from McGill University with a specialist  certificate in psychiatry.

 

Lawrence Hughes

 

Lawrence Hughes, SVP People and Culture at Porter

 

Lawrence Hughes is the SVP People and Culture at Porter. He leads a team focused on providing high levels of service and value, with responsibility for workplace culture, team engagement, policy development, leadership development, talent acquisition and management, payroll and benefits, while also contributing to company-wide training strategies.

Prior to joining Porter, he operated a HR consulting firm and has held operational and human resources leadership roles for Wed 49 Inc., Rogers Communications Inc., Roots Canada Limited, Dylex Limited and Hudson's Bay Company.

Peter Farvolden

Dr Peter Farvolden is the Chief Science Officer at MindBeacon. Prior to the establishment of MindBeacon, Dr Farvolden founded CBT Associates and was the Senior Clinical Director from 2002 onwards.

Dr Farvolden has worked as a researcher, clinician and administrator in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, including the University Health Network, Hamilton Health Sciences Centre , and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).  He has also held university appointments in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo and currently as an adjunct faculty member at Ryerson University. 

He is a member of the College of Psychologists in Ontario, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Anxiety Disorders Association of America, Canadian Psychological Association, Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Ontario Psychological Association.

Dr Farvolden holds a BA, BSc and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Waterloo.
