Introducing BEACON digital therapy
For Canadians coast-to-coast, BEACON was developed to provide accessible and affordable evidence-based psychotherapy.
BEACON provides therapist-assisted digital cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) specific to mild-to-moderate forms of the following conditions:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Panic
- Post-traumatic stress (PTSD)
- Insomnia
BEACON Demonstrates Measurable Effectiveness
BEACON demonstrates outcomes that are consistent with the effectiveness of other first-line therapies for mood and anxiety disorders, including pharmacological treatments and face-to-face psychotherapy.
In June 2019, we reported key outcomes from a recent sample of 1,006 participants who accessed BEACON. Very positive outcomes were identified in our sample:
- 80% experienced symptom reduction
- 64% experienced clinically significant improvement

A validated approach to mental health care
In 2019, the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) and Health Quality Ontario (HQO) collaborated to complete a systematic review of the clinical and economic evidence for the use of iCBT in patients with mild to moderate major depressive disorder and anxiety.
"It is recommended that guided internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) is offered to adults with mildto-moderate major depressive disorder and/or anxiety disorders."
Covered by most benefits plans
A full course of BEACON digital therapy is only a fraction of the cost of face-to-face psychotherapy, giving patients an affordable way to improve their mental health. It's also an eligible expense under most health benefits plans in Canada that can reimburse most or all of the cost of BEACON.
