Choosing a Social Worker VS Psychologist
Both psychologists and social workers assist with all mental health challenges. The main difference between a social worker and a psychologist is that a psychologist can provide a clinical diagnosis though a social worker cannot.
MindBeacon’s social workers have education and experience with clinical assessment and treatment, trained to perform assessments of a person’s functioning including biological, psychological, social, economic, health, emotional and cultural needs. Their approach often considers the context of an individual’s systems and environment (family, workplace, school and community) and has been proven to be successful in treating a wide range of mental health concerns.
EY’s mental health benefit provides up to $5,000 per year. The hourly Live Therapy rate with a psychologist may be higher than the amount you will be reimbursed through Manulife due to the reasonable and customary limits. If you choose to book your Live Therapy Sessions with a Social Worker, you will be reimbursed for the full amount.
